Why should I use Selevite Extra?
SELEVITE EXTRA contains high levels of Vitamin E and organic bioavailable Selenium, two necessary compounds to improve muscle function. They also benefit heart contraction, improve power, speed and staying ability therefore providing benefits to any performance horse. The National Research Council in America recommended horses receive 1000iu of Vitamin E in their daily diet.

SELEVITE EXTRA provides this level at the standard dose rate. German studies have proven that supplementation with Vitamin E significantly improves the chance of being placed in a race, with horses on Vitamin E placed in 48.8% of their starts, as compared to only 29.9% of horses not supplemented. The Vitamin E in SELEVITE EXTRA acts as an antioxidant and improves oxygen utilization. The selenium acts indirectly as an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant and is involved with energy transfer in the body.

When should I use Selevite Extra?
Selevite Extra can be used any time in performance horses. It can also be used to aid convalescing horses.

Dose Initial: 7.5g per 100kg bodyweight for 2-3 weeks e.g. yearlings 15g, ponies 30g,thoroughbreds 45g, broodmares and stallions 45g.

Maintenance: 2.5g per 100kg bodyweight thereafter, e.g.: yearlings 5g, ponies 10g, thoroughbreds 15g, broodmares and stallions 15g.

Dosage can be increased by your veterinarian, if considered necessary. Vitamin E may be inactivated by iron salts if sufficient direct contact occurs. Therefore it is recommended that supplements containing iron should not be administered in the same feed as Selevite Extra.
